(New York, NY) -- World Wrestling Entertainment superstar John
Cena addressed the United Nations Committee on Sustainable Development this week, where he received a hearty round of
boos.
Cena, a two-time WWE Champion, seemingly ignored the jeering as he discussed air pollution,
oil prices and current trends for fossil fuels in front of representatives from the group of 191 member states.
"We needs ta make the world a better place, straight up," Cena said during his statement.
"This is all about real recognizin' real."
Cena's message, while commendable and in line with the organization's recent recommendations,
did little to placate the irate group gathered in the U.N.'s General Assembly.
"Maybe the world would be a better place if you got the fuck out of here, ASSHOLE!"
shouted Dr. John W. Ashe, a U.N. representative from Antigua and Barbuda.
Cena downplayed the outburst and instead used the opportunity to pump up his sneakers
and then wave an open hand in front of Ashe's face.
"Word Life!" Cena shouted, drawing even more boos from the crowd.
Cena concluded his speech with a rap that managed to rhyme the names of San Marino
ambassador Daniele Bodini with a joke about his "weenie", not to mention Zimbabwean representative Boniface Chidausiku
and a lame remark about "dog doo".
Tunisian ambassador Ali Hachani led the crowd in a chant of "You suck!" as Cena
was assorted off the podium stage.
"I just don't understand him," Hachani was quoted as saying afterwards. "He kept saying
we couldn't see him, when quite clearly, we could. I mean, there are television monitors all over this place."

The United Nations, which was formed
following World War II, has had several non-political figures speak to its members over the years, including Angelina Jolie,
Bono, Audrey Hepburn and Max Moon. None had ever been booed.
"It kind of reminds of that time in 1991, when the members spontaneously erupted into
that that "We Want Flair!" chant," U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan said following Cena's speech.
Annan said that should Cena make future appearances for the international organization,
organizers would have to ensure he followed a personality less-respected than him, to build "cheap babyface heat" for the
WWE Champion.
"Maybe we can get Bush to warm up the crowd first," Annan said.
